Some syptoms of food allergies are red, flaky and itchy skin.

A:  Yes, dogs do get protein allergies.  A protein allergen is also in the food allergen group.  Symptoms of Protein allergies are; scratching, biting, pulling hair off and lots of dandruff.
Treatment: Try to get your dog off of the high protein diet.  After you get your dog off the high protein diet, look for a vegetarian or low protein diet. The progress will take a little while, but your dog will feel better.  Signs your dog is getting better:  When your dog starts to get better you will notice less scratching, biting and the growth of more hair.
